# Video clips

Animate any of your images into a 5-second clip with sound.

Turn a still image into a short video. Each clip is one 5-second shot at 720p, with sound.

## Make a clip

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="From a chat" %}

1. Under a photo she sent you, click **Generate clip**.
2. In **Animate this photo**, describe the motion.
3. Click **Generate**. The clip appears in the chat when it's ready.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="In the Studio" %}

1. In the Generation Studio, switch to **Video**.
2. Under **First frame**, click **Choose image** and pick an image of that doll. No image yet? Generate a still first.
3. Describe the motion and generate.
   {% endtab %}
   {% endtabs %}

A clip costs **20 tokens**.

## Writing a good motion prompt

A clip is a single 5-second shot, so describe one moment of movement:

* Focus on the **motion and the camera**: *she turns toward the camera and smiles, slow zoom in*.
* Don't describe her appearance; that comes from the image.
* Longer scenes and timed sequences won't fit in 5 seconds.

## If something goes wrong

* **"Clip generation failed. Tokens refunded.":** you get your 20 tokens back.
* **"Clip generation timed out":** it took too long; your tokens are refunded and you can try again.
* Prompts are checked against our [content rules](/help/account/content-rules-and-reporting.md).

## Where your clips are

Clips from a chat stay in that chat and in her **Shared media**. Clips from the Studio are in your gallery under **Videos**, where you can download them or share them to your profile.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://dreamdolls.gitbook.io/help/create/video-clips.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
